Role:

Insulation: help DPF to reduce heat loss during high temperature regeneration and improve the efficiency of burning particulate matter.

Anti-scald: isolate the high temperature surface to avoid scalding or igniting the surrounding items during maintenance.

Protect parts: Protect nearby parts (e.g. wires, plastics) from being damaged by high temperatures.

Material: usually made of high-temperature resistant metal (such as stainless steel), some with heat-insulating coating.
